The name Realgar comes from the Arabic phrase "rahj al-gahr", which means powder of the mine. It was used in Byzantium by
the thirteenth century as a mineral pigment and was once common as a pigment. Some paintings using this pigment have suffered from the fact that realgar is unstable and turns into
a yellow-orange powder when exposed to light.
New Age Therapists reccommend realgar as being helpful for growth at a cellular level. It is also used in crystal healing for detoxification and reducing or removing dependency.
for displaying and protecting your
favourite minerals, gems, fossils, meteorites or other collectibles.
We also make mineral
display stands and acrylic blocks.
